How Cleaning Up Your Instagram Profile Will Result in More Customers
If you feel you are doing everything right but not getting results, maybe you need to make a few small changes.
For those of you who post consistently and build an audience but do not get sales from social media, listen up!
The Anatomy of the Instagram Profile
1. Profile Picture
Your profile picture is the face of your brand. It appears on your profile and everywhere you comment and post.
Make it simple, memorable, and representative of your brand.
Keep text at a minimum, as it’s hard to read.
2. Bio & URL Link
Your bio, especially on Instagram, is some of the MOST IMPORTANT real estate on social media.
Be concise and precise with it.
Ensure it represents your values, product offering, ideal customer & markets you serve.
Lastly, include a link in your bio so visitors can learn more about your brand and easily find your products.
3. Pinned Posts
Pinned posts and highlights on Instagram offer new visitors a way to “do their homework” on your brand.
You can create content specifically for this area so that whenever someone new visits your profile, they can learn more about what you do, who you are, and build rapport without having to dig deeper.
This is usually one of the most underutilized features I notice.
Example: Butcher Box
Notice on Butcher Box’s profile, they have a simple profile picture, clear and concise bio with a link to get started and have utilized the highlight section on their page so that new visitors can watch past content to learn more about who they are and what they do.
Once you clean up and sharpen your Instagram profile, you will notice a significant increase in conversions of profile visits. It may not result in an immediate sales bump, but it will result in clearer communication and increased followers due to new visitors understanding who you are and what you do.
